Mr. Yuen Yu Sum, the Chairman of the Group, has been invited to an interview on the RTHK

From Investment Literacy to Holistic Youth Support, Chairman Sam Yuen Outlines the Vision for Growth and Main Board Listing

Legendary Education Group Limited (Stock Code: 8195.HK), formerly known as L&A Charity Group, has successfully transformed itself from a garment manufacturer into a leading educational powerhouse. Since the strategic entry of major shareholders like Mr. Ken Lui (KenSir) in 2019, the Group has pivoted toward Financial Intelligence (FI) and Investment Education, followed by the launch of Private Supplementary Education in 2021. In its latest annual results for the 2023/2024 fiscal year, the Group reported a 20% revenue increase to HK$285 million, with net profit surging 36.6% to HK$45.6 million.

Empowering Individuals with Financial Intelligence

In an exclusive interview with RTHK, Chairman Mr. Sam Yuen explained that the Group’s FI business was born out of a clear market need. Despite Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center, the traditional education system lacks practical investment training. “Our vision is to ‘grant more people time freedom,'” Mr. Yuen stated. By teaching strategies for generating passive income through stocks, options, and real estate, the Group empowers students to improve their quality of life and pursue personal dreams.

The Group maintains a team of 7 to 8 core tutors, with plans for selective expansion. To align the interests of top-tier educators with the Group’s growth, stock options are often utilized as part of the partnership structure. Looking ahead, the Group is also introducing courses on Blockchain and AI, extending its reach from adult learners to primary and secondary school students.

Achieving Early Profitability in Private Supplementary Education

The Group’s second pillar, Private Supplementary Education, has achieved profitability ahead of schedule. Currently, the Group operates five registered education centers across Causeway Bay, Kowloon Bay, Prince Edward, Tsuen Wan, and Mong Kok. By partnering with “tutor king” YY Lam, the Group provides students with the methods and mindset needed to excel in public examinations.

“Beyond grades, we aim to instill a positive mindset in our students,” Mr. Yuen emphasized. “For a student, this is even more important than their exam results.” The Group continues to explore new locations to meet the high demand for high-quality tutoring across Hong Kong.

Strategic Expansion: Early Childhood Education and the Greater Bay Area

Legendary Education Group is also eyeing the early childhood education market, with Non-Executive Director Ms. Louisa Mak providing strategic consultancy. While mindful of Hong Kong’s declining birth rate, Mr. Yuen sees a steady demand for professional child development services.

Furthermore, the Group is proactively seeking partners in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Following inspections in Beijing and Shanghai, the Group identified the GBA as the region with the most pressing demand for its educational services. Expansion into the GBA is expected to progress faster than the early childhood segment.

Aspirations for Main Board Listing

Having met the financial requirements for a listing transfer, the Group is actively consulting with stakeholders to finalize its application to move from GEM to the Main Board. Mr. Yuen believes this move will revitalize the Group’s market presence and attract a broader investor base.

Market Analysis

Analysts note that Legendary Education Group benefits from Hong Kong’s deep-rooted tutoring culture and the rising demand for investment literacy. If the government’s “Top Talent Pass Scheme” successfully offsets the local population gap, the Group’s business is expected to see sustained growth.
