“Imparting knowledge can be achieved through words; but instilling empathy and the responsibility to give back to society must be practiced through action.”

Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Legendary Education Foundation teamed up with the H.K.S.K.H. Kowloon City Children and Youth Integrated Service Centre at Kai Ching Centre to celebrate early with local families and neighborhood residents 🌕.

The whole afternoon was packed with energy and smiles:
🏮 Mid-Autumn Lantern Riddle Hunt: Kids bustling across the centre, teaming up to crack clues together.
🍲 Festive Community Dinner: Neighbors sitting down for a warm holiday meal and catching up.
🏆 “The Best in the World” Interactive Game: Fun group activities where every single kid got a chance to shine.
✂️ Parent-Child DIY Lantern Workshop: Families sitting side by side, hand-crafting and decorating their own lanterns.
🥮 Mooncake Distribution: Placing holiday mooncakes directly into the hands of each attending family.
The highlight of the day?
Our teaching faculty didn’t just turn up—they invited their students to come out and volunteer alongside them.
Usually, our tutors are in the classroom delivering professional knowledge and sharing practical experience. But on this day, they put on volunteer vests, moved supplies, ran game booths, and guided kids through craft-making.
As our educators shared:
“We believe in leading by example. It’s one thing to talk about social responsibility, but it means so much more when our students see us rolling up our sleeves. When you have the capability to help, you step forward and give back.”

A sincere thank you to the H.K.S.K.H. Kowloon City Children and Youth Integrated Service Centre for their coordination and venue support, and to Towngas for generously sponsoring the mooncakes. Warm thanks as well to every volunteer partner who took time out of their busy schedule to be there.
Keeping this momentum going—showing up, doing the work, and bringing genuine warmth to our community 🤍.
